Ashfield Partnership Against Crime

Violent Crime

We will:
  • Teach people about the consequences of alcohol misuse and violent crime through a range of early intervention measures
  • Use licensing legislation and resources to address alcohol related violence
  • Help individual licensees and traders by supporting and developing Pub and Shop Watch initiatives in the district
  • Increase visible and co-ordinated partnership activity in those areas identified as hotspot areas
  • Promote the effective use by all relevant partners of CCTV to both prevent and detect violent crime offences in hotspot areas
  • Focus ADC's new Warden Service on violent crime hotspots and on those aspects of violent crime appropriate to their role
  • Research and try to reduce social factors within the Ashfield District area which may drive violent crime
  • Secure and analyse all possible sources of information on violent crime in order to direct partnership resources where they are required
  • Get involved with national knife crime initiatives in order to prevent knife crime becoming a significant problem in Ashfield
